Save Money On Groceries with Rebate Apps
If you aren’t already saving money on your groceries through rebate apps, you’re missing a great opportunity to save! Grocery rebate apps are one of the easiest ways to save money on food and other often-needed items. You can find a list of some of the best money saving grocery apps here.
In addition to helping you save money on your grocery bill, I’ve found these apps have also inspired me to make healthier food choices at the grocery store.
1. Eat Your Fruits and Vegetables
Ibotta is by far my highest return on grocery rebate apps. I’m currently averaging over $10 per month in rebates. The Ibotta app regularly includes rebates on in-season produce. For example, Ibotta currently has rebates on carrots, corn, and bananas. This has led me to purchase these items when I might not have otherwise. I add them to our lunches and dinners, adding more fruits and vegetables to my family’s diet.
Another great grocery rebate app, Saving Star, has a healthy offer of the week. Over the last few weeks, it’s been apples, corn, and bananas. I love the reminder to add these healthy items to your shopping list. As a bonus, when these appear on multiple apps you can double up on your savings.
I find it helps to make a game of it. I buy all of the fruits and vegetables with rebates available and then find a way to work it into the weekly menu.
2.Healthier Options at Lower Price
If you’ve tried to make healthier purchases in the past and been frustrated by the expense when compared to less health conscious choices, grocery rebate apps could make a difference for you. Berry Cart is a grocery rebate app focused specifically on healthy and organic grocery products.
Ibotta, Saving Star, and Checkout 51 also regularly have rebates on organic products and healthier brands of everyday items. For example, this week, they have rebates on kale chips and several high-end, organic granola bars, peanut butter cups, and other snack items. These rebates help bring pricey items into a more affordable range, coming closer to and even matching similar less healthy item prices.
3. Variety is the Spice of Life
A great unanticipated benefit of using grocery rebate apps is I find myself trying new foods. I search through all the apps every week before shopping and nearly that often I come across something new I would like to try. Now, you won’t be saving much money if your rebate app causes you to buy a bunch of things you won’t eat. But hopefully, you can find one or two items each week you want to try. This will add some needed variety to your diet.
Adding variety to your diet is good for you! It helps you get a variety of nutrients and hey, it makes life more interesting.
